Free Press Summer Fest

This year’s annual music festival will feature two days of performances across four different stages by musicians, such as Lorde, G-Eazy, Cage The Elephant, Flume, Solange, Tove Lo and Charlie XCX, among others. American Fitness Expo

Houston’s largest health, fitness and sports expo includes strongman, powerlifting and obstacles course competitions, a series of motivational seminars and workshops, and special guests ranging from TV personalities to Olympic gold medalists. Pull for Puppies Tournament
June 3
This tug-of-war tournament benefits the Forgotten Pet Advocates—Pet Adoption and Rescue. There will be a men’s, women’s and co-ed tournament and each team must have four to eight players and all players must be at least 18 years old. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. $25 (per player). Empty Bowls Houston
June 3
This 13th annual event allows patrons to choose a bowl from hundreds of one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted bowls donated by local artists. Visitors then receive a soup lunch donated by Whole Foods Market and prepared by the Houston Food Bank Community Kitchen. The event will also feature pottery and woodturning demonstrations as well as live music. Over the past 13 years, the event has raised more than $745,000 for the Houston Food Bank, enabling the organization to provide more than 2.2 million meals. Space City Food Truck Festival
