Missouri City is continuing progress on its 2021 bond street reconstruction projects, with work set to begin soon on reconstructing Lantern Lane.

Zooming in

At a May 20 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved a $1.63 million construction contract with Tandem Services, LLC for the Lantern Lane Street Reconstruction project, which will reconstruct the road from Point Clear Drive to approximately 1,400 feet east, according to agenda documents.

The city will fund the project through the November 2021 $85.85 million voter-approved bond, which included $51.61 million in street reconstruction and other mobility projects. The 2021 bond is the largest bond in the city’s history, Community Impact reported.

The Lantern Lane project will include reconstructing:
  • Roadway pavement
  • Driveways
  • Concrete curbs
  • Sidewalks
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Storm sewer inlets and laterals
  • Junction boxes
  • Street signage
  • Pavement markings
The project will also include any adjustments to water lines and sanitary sewer appurtenances affected by construction, according to agenda documents.

Looking ahead

Construction is expected to begin in June and is anticipated to be completed by November, according to agenda documents.
