Design of Soldiers Field Drive extension in Sugar Land nearing completion, construction to follow

The design of the project to connect the existing Soldiers Field Drive to Hwy. 6 in Sugar Land in nearing completion, according to the city of Sugar Land.

The $2.46 million extension—which is funded through money from the 2019 city of Sugar Land general obligation bond—will also include improvements to First Colony Boulevard.


Construction on the new road is expected to begin in fiscal year 2021-22, following the completion of the Hwy. 6 road widening project.
