More than a year after it was selected as the official Triple-A franchise of the Houston Astros, the Sugar Land Skeeters will soon receive a rebrand.

Details on that rebrand, including the new name of the brand, will be revealed by the Astros during a Jan. 29 launch party at Constellation Field from 4-7 p.m., which will include autograph sessions with Astros prospects as well as a panel discussion among Astros officials, players and Skeeters manager Mickey Storey, the Skeeters announced Jan. 18. The rebrand will take effect immediately.

A presentation on the new brand will kick off the launch event and will include a mascot introduction, logos and uniforms. The launch event will also serve as the first opportunity for fans to purchase merchandise with the new branding, according to the announcement.

Tickets for the event will be $1 and purchasable through the team’s website. Proceeds will benefit the Astros Foundation.

The rebranded team will begin its season April 5 with a road series against the Sacramento River Cats and will host its home opener on April 12 vs. the Round Rock Express.
