What residents need to know
At a May 6 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved a $152,250 contract with McKenna Contracting Inc. for the construction of four pickleball courts at City Park.
The park, located at 225 Seventh St., is home to a playground, pavilion, sand volleyball court and a tennis court with pickleball striping, William Hajdik, parks and recreation assistant director for Sugar Land, said in an email.
“A location for these dedicated pickleball courts was identified at City Park, which is ideal due to its central location in the city, proximity to existing tennis/pickleball courts, use of existing park facilities, parking and restrooms, and suitability for four additional dedicated pickleball courts,” Hajdik said in the email.
