Sugar Land City Council on Oct. 3 will consider passing a variety of items, including updates to the operating hours of two Lamar CISD elementary school zones and more.

What’s happening?

The city may adjust school zone times to better follow the Texas Transportation Institute’s Guidelines for Traffic Control in School Areas, according to the agenda. The two schools in Sugar Land city limits that could have adjusted school zone times are Campbell Elementary and Dickinson Elementary schools.

LCISD cited bus driver shortages as the reason for adjusting arrival and dismissal times for some schools, causing the city to consider adjusting their school zone times.
