Why did you choose to run for the mayor position?

I’m stepping in with purpose and a track record that speaks volumes. I’ve authored game-changing policies, from the first-ever, citywide homestead exemption to ethics reform. I’ve brought new energy to how we listen, legislate and lead. I’m running to turn community concerns into concrete solutions, ensuring neighborhood voices drive progress.

What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Missouri City?

As mayor, my top priority is building a city that works for all of us, regardless of ZIP code, subdivision or home value. That means staying laser-focused on becoming a destination city, a scenic city and a city that thrives by investing in its people—through strong, intentional community engagement

What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?

Missouri City residents are looking for tax relief. We need to be intentional about strategic development and redevelopment to increase sales tax revenue as well as identify new revenue streams. We must analyze existing partnership agreements to see if they align with the city’s interests.

With the comprehensive plan update underway, what do you believe is the most important outcome and plan forward for zoning regulations?

With roughly 9% of our land still undeveloped and many opportunities for revitalization, we must be intentional about the types of development we encourage in Missouri City through zoning regulations. We must provide clear direction to staff, developers and the public to avoid wasting time and resources.

How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?

Economic development doesn’t just happen, which is why I’ve been actively working on a Missouri City Downtown concept since 2020. I will continue to work with staff to attract and recruit developers and businesses to the city, as I have successfully done over the past eight years on City Council.

Why did you choose to run for the mayor position?

Missouri City is my home, and I believe in its potential. I wanted to unite people, restore pride in our community and lead with integrity. I work to deliver on those commitments by strengthening city services, building community partnerships ensuring Missouri City remains a great place to live and work.

What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Missouri City?

To strengthen the core of our city by focusing on public safety, infrastructure and neighborhoods. We have already increased support in these areas and invested in community spaces. I will continue to focus on safer streets, drainage, public safety and smarter growth so Missouri City thrives as a premier community.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?

Balancing our rapid growth with the need to upgrade and maintain aging infrastructure. We have a capital improvement program of $180 million for drainage and facility improvements, parks and utility projects. I will continue prioritizing infrastructure investments, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely to improve our community.

With the comprehensive plan update underway, what do you believe is the most important outcome and plan forward for zoning regulations?

Consistent zoning regulations that align with our long-term vision, protect the character of our neighborhoods and create opportunities for growth. We have worked to update land use policies, and revitalize older commercial corridors and must continue using zoning to safeguard our quality of life while fueling economic growth.

How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?

We have made progress by recruiting businesses, expanding restaurant and retail options, and strengthening partnerships with developers, regional business organizations, and local entrepreneurs. I will continue building on these partnerships to attract the right employers while uplifting the small businesses that are the backbone of our economy.
