Why did you choose to run for the Missouri City City Council District B position?
I am running because Missouri City deserves leadership that listens and delivers. I want to rebuild trust, think smarter, connect our neighborhoods, grow local businesses, and keep the money in Missouri City so families can thrive, and our city can stay competitive.
What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Missouri City?
My top priority is building a city where small businesses can succeed. By growing our commercial base, we can boost sales tax revenue, strengthen Missouri City’s economy and ease the burden on homeowners by reducing reliance on property taxes.
What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
The biggest issue is our city growing faster than our roads, drainage and safety services. The city set aside $42.5 million for upgrades, and I’ll push for a clear plan and vet contractors so projects are done right.
With the comprehensive plan update underway, what do you believe is the most important outcome and plan forward for zoning regulations?
We need zoning that supports smart growth, protects neighborhoods and helps small businesses succeed. With limited land, zoning should guide development toward walkable mixed areas that reduce traffic, support infrastructure and keep our community strong while preserving neighborhood character.
How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?
To grow Missouri City’s economy, I’ll make it easier for businesses to open by streamlining permits and offering smart incentives. We need skilled economic development leaders, give them full support and attract businesses that grow our tax base without raising residents’ taxes.
Why did you choose to run for the Missouri City City Council District B position?
I’ve served Missouri City for 21 years; 18 years Planning and Zoning and three as At-Large Position 1. With background in real estate, business and desire to serve, I’ll listen to the citizens and advocate for fair property tax rates, a balanced budget and safety within a beautiful city.
What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Missouri City?
With property values at an all-time high, I will continue to push for additional revenue streams, budget alternatives and economic development that will support a flip from a property tax base budget to a more sales tax and other revenue base budget.
What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
With legislation aimed at property tax relief and limitations on local government revenue and debt, the city must develop a five to 10 year budget forecast for sustainability. This forecast must also address ongoing and pressing issues that include public safety, traffic solutions to ease mobility burdens, infrastructure and smart growth.
With the comprehensive plan update underway, what do you believe is the most important outcome and plan forward for zoning regulations?
Our city is designed through zoning and the comprehensive plan. It must be tied to our citizen’s desires and no longer to the market of “just for the developer.” It must include corridor designation and protection, strategic zoning for targeted businesses, work force housing, redevelopment and protection for existing communities.
How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?
With a $688M retail leakage and a need to align private capital for undersupplied markets; I will continue to use data that intentionally solicits business that will bring the service/product that citizens are leaving the city for. [For example,] specialty food stores, bulk retail stores, medical, event, entertainment and fine dining.
