Early voting begins April 22 for the May general election, and Sugar Land- and Missouri City-area voters have several races to weigh in on.

What’s on the ballot?

Local races include Sugar Land City Council and mayor races, a city charter proposition, and Fort Bend ISD board of trustees races.

Community Impact asked candidates of the following races to participate in questionnaires:The Sugar Land charter amendment proposition, called Proposition A on the ballot, asks voters to answer “yes” or “no” to whether the charter should be amended to extend the terms of the municipal court and associate judges from two to four years, Community Impact reported.

Where to vote


According to the Fort Bend County website, registered voters in the county can cast their ballot at one of 26 countywide early voting locations from April 22-29. The hours of operation for these locations are:
  • April 22-25 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • April 26 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • April 28-29 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.


Looking ahead

Election day is Saturday, May 3, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
