Why did you choose to run for Sugar Land mayor?

I'm running for mayor because I care deeply about people, and I want to encourage others like me to run for office. I’m not from a political background. I’m a mother, educator and advocate. We need creative leaders and community-driven solutions to ensure that our city stays vibrant and strong.

What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Sugar Land?

Sugar Land thrives when our local businesses succeed. My top priority is to make sure local businesses have support from the city. I will launch a Buy Local Sugar Land Campaign that will create city-sponsored events, and marketing that encourages residents to choose local first.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?

Sugar Land lost 10,000 residents last year due to the high cost of living. We are in an affordability crisis. As mayor, I will fight to ease this burden by advocating for responsible budgeting, fair tax policies, and creative solutions to keep commercial and residential rent costs in check.

Following the announcement of acquiring the Imperial Historic District, what else can the city do to encourage redevelopment of older city areas?

Revitalizing older areas doesn’t have to be expensive—we just need smart solutions. I’ll focus on securing grants for infrastructure upgrades, bringing outside funding instead of relying on tax increases. I’ll advocate for rezoning efforts for more mixed-use developments. These policies keep our city affordable and future-focused without displacing long-time residents.

How will you continue leading efforts to enhance the city’s alternative mobility efforts?

We can improve alternative mobility efficiently and cost effectively. As mayor, I’ll push for pedestrian-friendly pathways, shared e-scooters/bikes and neighborhood shuttle services connecting our residents to area businesses. This makes our city more accessible and ready for the future, while avoiding congestion and excessive spending.

Why did you choose to run for Sugar Land mayor?

With a decade on the Sugar Land board of directors and a previous mayoral run, I’m committed to responsible growth, public safety and preserving our city’s character. I want to ensure transparency, smart development and a thriving community for all residents.

What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Sugar Land?

My top priority is stopping the proposed power plant, which threatens our environment and quality of life. Additionally, I will advocate for stronger educational initiatives, ensuring students and schools receive the necessary resources to support growth, innovation and long-term success in Sugar Land.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?

Managing growth while maintaining infrastructure and quality of life is critical. I will push for responsible development, improved traffic solutions and expanded public services to ensure Sugar Land remains a desirable, well-planned community that meets the needs of current and future residents.

Following the announcement of acquiring the Imperial Historic District, what else can the city do to encourage redevelopment of older city areas?

The city should offer incentives for businesses, streamline zoning regulations and invest in infrastructure to attract private development. Preserving historic charm while modernizing facilities will create vibrant spaces that honor Sugar Land’s history and enhance economic opportunities.

How will you continue leading efforts to enhance the city’s alternative mobility efforts?

Reducing high density developments such as excessive apartment complexes will heavily reduce traffic congestion issues. Also, optimizing the development by communicating with Richmond and Rosenberg on excessive shopping malls and theatres in areas that potentially risk increasing traffic in a few years will heavily reduce commute times.
