Fort Bend ISD seeks to hire 189 teachers and staff during its Dec. 5 hiring event.
What you need to know
The hiring event will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. at the James Reese Career and Technical Center at 12300 University Blvd., Sugar Land, according to a district news release. FBISD will hire for:
- Certified teachers
- Paraprofessionals
- Registered nurses
- Counselors
- Register online ahead of the event, if possible
- Apply for the jobs they’re interested in pursuing on the district website
- Bring several copies of their resume
- Be prepared for in-person interviews with campus and district leaders
“We are looking forward to meeting candidates who are ready to lead and support student learning, including university students who will receive their teaching degrees in just a few short weeks,” FBISD Director of Talent Acquisition Jennifer Nichols said in the release.
Digging deeper
Employees hired during the December event will staff existing campuses for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year, Director of Strategic Communications Sherry Williams said in an email. FBISD has the following vacancies:
- 90 teachers
- 90 instructional paraprofessionals
- Four nurses
- Five counselors
FBISD’s base salary for certified teachers is $62,000 annually, according to the FBISD website. However, pay increases are available based on years of experience.
Meanwhile, paraprofessionals' daily pay rate ranges from $123-$210; registered nurses' pay ranges $295-$419 daily; and counselors have daily pay rates that range from $331-$470, Williams said.
Looking ahead
In the spring, FBISD will host a separate hiring event for Ferndell Henry Elementary School at 7447 FM 521, Rosharon, Williams said. The new campus will open in August.
