In its first steps in the superintendent search process, the Fort Bend ISD board of trustees will review proposals from and interview search firms.
Once the board hires a firm, it will aid in the process of locating a new superintendent. Seven search firms responded to the district’s request for proposal, and trustees will evaluate each response by the end of January.
According to a proposed timeline presented at the Jan. 19 board meeting, trustees will deliberate their ranking of the search firms at the Feb. 8 meeting. Then the board will meet to interview the top firms and potentially hire a firm Feb. 17.
“At that time, that’s when we will have the opportunity to ask questions and get in alignment on what we are going to be looking for when it comes to what we need them to do as we look for our new superintendent,” trustee and board President Addie Heyliger said during the Jan. 19 meeting.
Superintendent Charles Dupre announced his intent to resign by the end of 2021. Dupre continues to serve as superintendent and will do so during the search process.
