Houston-based restaurant Gyro Republic opened its newest location in Missouri City.

On the menu

The fast-casual eatery offers customizable New York City-style gyros featuring halal meat, rice bowls, salads, pita sandwiches and loaded fries, according to the business’ website. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

According to a news release, the location also introduced new sauces, dips and items to the menu, such as:
  • Ghost pepper hot sauce
  • Avocado hummus
  • Spicy roasted pepper hummus
  • Red hot sauce
  • Spicy rice
  • Spicy chicken

The details

The Missouri City location is the first franchise for the local brand, with franchisees Ahmer Ali and Ejas Hussein running the location, according to the release. Missouri City also offers the brand's first drive-thru.


Zooming out

More franchise locations are on the way for Gyro Republic, with founder Rehan Ranpuri planning to announce four to six new franchise locations across the Houston area by early 2025, according to the release. A grand opening celebration for the Missouri City eatery will take place Sept. 28.

What else

Gyro Republic joins other new businesses coming to NewQuest Properties' Fort Bend Town Center II development, including Buffalo Wild Wings, Chick-fil-A, EoS Fitness and Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies.
