Missouri City’s Township Square has unveiled a new clock tower mural as developers look to complete extensive renovations to the plaza by early 2023.

Houston-based commercial firm KM Realty, which is spearheading the renovation project, unveiled the 54-foot clock tower mural in late October. United by Design brought together local artists to wrap the clock tower in vibrant hues and imagery that pay a subtle, cheery homage to the surrounding area, according to an Oct. 26 news release.

“It is definitely a buzz within the city,” Fellowship Coffee Co. owner Ryan Boringa said in the announcement. “Many of my friends and family love it. Our space for the coffee shop has the most perfect view of the clock tower, which we are absolutely thrilled about.”

The mural comes as part of the $4 million, 67,000-square-foot renovation of the Township Square, which when completed will instill a more urban design with differentiated storefronts and upgraded materials and finishes, according to the release. The project was first announced back in September 2021.

Upgrades will include replacing windows and doors, installing metal canopies and fabric awnings, repairing and replacing siding, adding patios and improving the common areas, and landscaping and renovating the shopping center’s roadside monument signs.
