Sienna, the 10,000-acre master-planned Fort Bend community, will not only be celebrating some important milestones but will also be experiencing significant development in 2022.

In 2022, Sienna will celebrate 25 years of home sales. This comes as the community now houses approximately 25,000 residents, up from 13,721 as of 2010, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. In 2000, Sienna had 1,896 residents.

Sienna is ranked as the 26th top-selling master-planned community in the United States, according to a spokesperson for the community, a distinction that comes as the community is set to hit 10,000 new home closings in 2022.

In addition, the Missouri City community has 10 new sections with at least 500 new houses planned for construction, including at the Heritage Grove, Crescent Creek, Heritage Creek, Valencia Grove and Forest Lake neighborhoods.

In 2022, the community will also be home to a new elementary school for Fort Bend ISD, currently called Elementary No. 54. Construction of the school, which is expected to relieve overutilization of Heritage Rose Elementary, will be completed by the end of 2022, though the school will not open until January 2023.

Located along the elementary school site will be a new planned greenway, Sienna Marketing Director Allison Bond said.

“Sawmill Greenway is a shaded path near Sawmill Lake Club that connects Mount Logan and Sienna Parkway,” Bond said in an email to Community Impact Newspaper. “The next planned greenway is Sienna Oaks Greenway, which will connect Sienna Parkway and Heritage Park Drive, running alongside not only neighborhoods but also the western edge of the tract of land where Fort Bend ISD’s Elementary No. 54 is being built.”

In addition, three new parks will be coming to Sienna in the first quarter of 2022, including Heritage Grove Park, Sienna Grove Park and Pecan Grove Park.

Heritage Grove Park will be woodland-themed and will feature a bridge connecting two neighborhoods. It is designed to be a convenient destination for residents living in Heritage Grove. Sienna Grove Park will be most conveniently located for residents in Oakwood Trail, Heritage Creek and Valencia Grove, according to Sienna. Located in the Village of Sawmill Lake, Pecan Grove Park will include a trail, an open lawn, picnic zones and a pavilion structure when construction is completed.

However, not only will new amenities be coming to Sienna, but existing amenities will also receive updates.

The 18-acre Sienna Oaks Lake, for instance, is slated to receive an addition to its trail and amenity structures. Johnson Development will begin that Phase 2 addition in 2022.
