Fort Bend County reported 21 new cases of the coronavirus June 8, according to the county’s public Community Impact dashboard.

The 21 cases reported June 8 come after Fort Bend County reported more than 160 new cases June 4 and 5.

The county has seen a total of 2,138 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. Currently, there are 1,271 active cases, 820 recoveries and 47 deaths. Twenty-one Fort Bend County residents are in the hospital with the coronavirus.

In addition to the new cases, the county reported 37 recoveries and zero new coronavirus-related deaths.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 74,978 cases have been reported statewide, up 3,365 from the number reported June 5.
