CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Fort Bend County confirms 40 new cases, 49 recoveries May 20

Fort Bend County is reporting 40 new cases of the coronavirus May 20, its largest single-day increase this week.

The county also confirmed 49 additional recoveries and zero new deaths. There has not been a coronavirus-related death reported in Fort Bend County since May 11.



Fort Bend County has a total of 1,621 confirmed cases, including 1,148 active cases, 433 recoveries and 40 deaths. Fifty-six Fort Bend County residents with coronavirus are currently hospitalized.

On May 19, Fort Bend County administered 546 coronavirus tests across its five public testing locations. To date, the county has performed 8,773 coronavirus tests.

As of 4:30 p.m. May 20, Fort Bend County case tracking dashboard had not been updated to show where in the county new cases are located.
