Along with 35 new cases of the coronavirus, Fort Bend County is reporting 10 more recoveries and two additional deaths, according to data released April 30.

The latest data brings the total number of cases countywide to 1,052. This figure includes the 889 active cases, 137 reported recoveries and 26 deaths.

In a post to his Facebook page, Fort Bend County Judge KP George said the residents who died from the virus are two men, one in his 70s and one in his 80s, both with underlying health conditions.

As Texas prepares for Phase 1 of reopening May 1, which allows most retail stores, restaurants, movie theaters and malls to operate at 25% capacity, the state is reporting 1,033 daily new cases, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Fort Bend County tracks case information by jurisdiction and ZIP code. Of the 35 new cases, 15 were located in the 77459 Missouri City ZIP code. Unincorporated Fort Bend County saw an increase of 11 cases.
