First Service Credit Union has opened a second location in Sugar Land aimed at expanding access to its comprehensive financial services.

“We’re incredibly excited to open another branch location in Sugar Land and to continue expanding our footprint in the Houston area,” Dave Bleazard, president and chief executive officer, said in an Aug. 12 release.

The details

The member-owned credit union started in 1977 with a vision to foster well-being in the Greater Houston area and has since grown to 90,000 members, according to its website. Members also have access to more than 5,600 shared credit union branches and over 85,000 surcharge-free ATMs locally and nationwide.

The branch is FSCU’s second location in Sugar Land, with the first located at 13533 University Blvd., Ste. 400, according to its website.

The grand opening

A community celebration will be held Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring appearances by Space Cowboys mascot Orion and player Kenedy Corona, ballpark-style snacks, games and giveaways, per the release. Guests who open an account during August will be entered to win 2026 Space Cowboys season tickets and signed memorabilia.

Meanwhile, a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Aug. 21 at 11 a.m, according to the release.
