Funtastik Labs, a business focused on offering science-based activities, opened its second location in Sugar Land.

The overview

The business provides a space for those age 3 and older to explore science, technology, engineering, arts and math, co-founder Raj Gupta said. The hands-on facility allows customers to take on arts projects, build and code robotics, and create slime and bath bombs.

“Our focus is around trying to help kids have a great, fun first-hand experience with science, arts and engineering,” he said. “We think they’re really—after reading, writing and math—they’re the most fundamental things in terms of helping people be successful, whether they’d be in their career or personal life.”

The backstory

Gupta launched Funtastik Labs with his wife, CEO and founder Roli Sangal, in Katy in 2019, Community Impact reported. They decided to expand the business to the area when they began gaining more customers from Sugar Land, Gupta said.

“With the strong family values and the focus around parents moving to Fort Bend ISD or Sugar Land schools, we thought it was a great fit in terms of bringing our offerings and helping to expand our mission to the Sugar Land area,” he said.

What else

Schools can book field trips and customers can celebrate birthdays and attend spring and summer camps at Funtastik Labs, Gupta said.
