Uniqlo, a Japanese fast-casual clothing retailer, will open this fall in Sugar Land’s First Colony Mall, according to an Aug. 19 news release.

The brand sells T-shirts, trousers, coats, jackets and more, according to its website.

The store opened its first U.S. location in 2005 and has 20 stores planned for 2024, according to the release. Uniqlo will open five stores in Texas this year, with two located in the Houston area, according to the release.

“We can’t wait to connect with our new Texan neighbors and become a valuable part of their daily lives,” Uniqlo USA CEO Yoshihide Shindo said in the release.


The details

The store’s official opening will be Oct. 18 and will feature promotions and giveaways, according to the release.

Uniqlo will also open a location in Houston’s Memorial City Mall on Oct. 11, according to the release. Both stores opening in the Houston area this year are partnering with local nonprofit Harmony House as part of the store’s mission of sustainability and giving back, according to the release.
