College 101, a college planning service, will open in the Sugar Land area in 2024.

The background

The franchise location is owned by Asif Nanji and his wife, Shahin, who own and operate Study Dorm, a tutoring company in the Stafford and Sugar Land area. Nanji said they have served the Fort Bend ISD community for 11 years, and now they want to help local students and parents navigate through the college admissions process.

The details

The business will offer various services, including helping students develop a list of colleges; scheduling college visits; tutoring; crafting college essays; and ACT, SAT and PSAT preparation, Nanji said.

The couple will provide one-on-one guidance for students from the same location as Study Dorm. With more than 45 locations, College 101 has helped over 7,400 students attend over 650 colleges and universities, Nanji said.
