1. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road Segment 6 widening
A project to widen Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from two lanes to four lanes between Mahaffey Road and FM 2920 was completed and opened to the public March 8, Rocchi said. The project also added a traffic signal at the intersection of Hufsmith-Kohrville and Mahaffey.

2. Holderrieth Road extension
Construction is nearing completion on a project to extend Holderrieth Road to a five-lane boulevard with drainage between Calvert Road and Hwy. 249. The project is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2019, said Pamela Rocchi, director of the Precinct 4 Capital Improvements Program.

3. Spring Cypress Road improvements
This project was awarded to Third Cost Construction, and the notice to proceed was issued March 11, Rocchi said. The project is expected to be complete by June 3, 2020, and includes installing traffic signals at several points on Spring Cypress Road as well as turn lane improvements between Telge Road and FM 2920.

4. Strack Drive improvements
Precinct 4 is in the final design phase for a project to install a traffic signal and widen Strack Drive where it intersects with Louetta Road to accommodate left- and right-turn lanes. Rocchi said construction should begin in the second quarter of 2019.

5. Riley Fuzzel Road improvements
A project to widen Riley Fuzzel Road between Elm Street and the Hardy Toll Road is in the design phase. The project will upgrade the road to a four-lane paved segment, realign the road to remove sharp turns, close the railroad crossing at Caroline Street and open a new crossing north of Riley Fuzzel. The project will go out for bids in the fourth quarter of 2019.

6. Stuebner Airline Road extension
Harris County Precinct 4 is studying a project to extend Stuebner Airline Road as a four-lane paved section between FM 2920 and the Grand Parkway, connecting Stuebner Airline to Spring Stuebner, Rocchi said. The project will also widen Spring Stuebner Road between the Grand Parkway and 1,500 feet northeast of the Grand Parkway.
