Kelsey-Seybold Clinic will be adding 40,000 square feet of space to its Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center, located at 15655 Cypress Woods Medical Drive, Houston, officials announced in a March 7 news release.

"Our connection to this community goes beyond the care that we deliver to our patients. Our providers and staff have always taken the role of community partner very seriously," said Cecilia Fowler, senior director of Ambulatory Services for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, in a statement. "Thousands of patients walk through our doors every week, and it is our utmost pleasure to be growing this location to offer more of what our patients need, right here."

According to the release, the project will include a 12,000-square-foot expansion of the first floor and a new 28,000-square-foot addition to the south side of the facility. The additional space will allow for growth of specialty care offerings, including radiation oncology, palliative care and behavioral health as well as accommodating additional providers in gastroenterology, urology, orthopedics, ophthalmology and dermatology.

"For more than 15 years, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic - Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center has provided patients living in North Houston and Spring communities quality care that is close to home and work," said Hilary Chandler, nurse manager of cancer services for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, in a statement. "We are excited that Kelsey-Seybold Clinic's Spring Cancer Center Campus will be adding radiation oncology to increase convenience for patients undergoing treatment for cancer."

Additionally, the expansion will allow for more laboratory services including positron emission tomography-computed tomography, or PET-CT, a new 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, and 64-slice computerized tomography, or CT.

"We often hear from our patients how grateful they are to have a Kelsey-Seybold location close by and how they want to come here for all of their care," said Dr. Muhammed Nathani, co-managing physician of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic - Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center, in a statement. "By growing our footprint here, we are delivering on the promise we make to offer quality, coordinated care that is convenient for those living and working in this part of town. We are as excited for this new expansion to open as our patients are."

According to the release, construction is already underway and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023. 713-442-1700. www.kelsey-seybold.com
