Join Excalibur Brewing Co. for a weeklong German Oktoberfest celebration featuring new beer releases, German dancers, a costume contest, beer-chugging and stein-holding competitions, and live music. Food will be available for purchase at food trucks.

Hosted by The Centrum Arts League, this year’s Best of Northwest Gala will honor Diane and Larry Lipton, and feature a “Thank you for the music” theme. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs and scholarships offered by the Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment.

Stageworks Theatre will perform “9 to 5 The Music” based on the book by Patricia Resnick with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. According to the website, the musical is suitable for those age 11 and older due to suggestive content and mild language.

Little Woodrow’s Tomball will host its inaugural wiener dog race followed by an Oktoberfest celebration, including a stein-hoisting competition, vendors, giveaways, tastings and live DJs. Prizes will be awarded for best in show.

Golf for a cause at Hope Center Houston’s sixth annual charity golf tournament. This event benefits Hope Center Houston, a day center that assists homeless individuals. Teams of four golfers will compete, and other highlights of the event include raffles, a silent auction and lunch before tee time. Golfers must register online in advance.
