In the race for two commissioner positions for the Harris County Emergency Services District No. 16, one newcomer and one incumbent have garnered the most votes as of 11:30 p.m. May 7.

Anna M. Vollenweider and incumbent Lance Wilson were the top two vote-getters, earning 408 and 399 votes, respectively, according to ESD 16 election officials. Others who ran in the election were Daniel Erickson, Michael Gosselin, incumbent Rich Jones, Evan Schroeder and Jaime Lynn Serghini.

Erickson, Gosselin, Jones, Schroeder and Lynn Serghini ended the night with vote totals of 191, 143, 269, 159 and 300, respectively.

ESD 16’s board of commissioners are elected for four-year terms, according to the organization’s website. Commissioners meet monthly to discuss district business at the Klein Volunteer Fire Department’s Administration Building—located at 16810 Squyres Road, Klein.

Founded in 1984, ESD 16 is a taxing district that supports fire suppression and rescue services through contractor Klein Volunteer Fire Department. ESD 16’s district covers about 49 square miles in the Spring and Klein area, according to ESD 16’s website, currently serving about 173,549 residents.
