Five Klein ISD elementary schools and one early childhood education campus will soon undergo remodels, estimated to cost $4 million-$5 million total, as part of the district’s $900 million bond approved by voters in May 2022.

At a glance

The upcoming upgrades will be for Eiland, Kaiser, Klenk, McDougle and Nitsch elementary schools as well as Grace England Early Childhood & Pre-K Center, Executive Director of Communications Justin Elbert said in an Oct. 6 email. The remodels will include upgrades or replacements of campus systems, such as:
  • Facades
  • Flooring
  • Fire alarms
  • Public address systems
  • Air handlers
  • Exterior lighting
  • Kitchen hoods
The six campus remodels are estimated to be completed by September 2026, Director of Communications Chelsea Ceballos said in an Oct. 20 email.

KISD’s board of trustees approved the campus renovation projects during its Oct. 6 regular meeting.
