Hive Academy, a family-owned private preschool, will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 6. The academy offers programs for children starting at 6 weeks old, as well as before-and-after-school care for kids up to age 13, according to its website.

About the program

The Hive Academy offers four programs for different age groups, per its website:
  • Infant program: 6 weeks-17 months
  • Toddler program: 18 months-3 years old
  • Pre-K program: 4-5 years old
  • K-6 program: 6-13 years old
The school-age program includes before-school care starting at 6:30 a.m. and after-school care at 6 p.m., according to the academy's website. Additionally, the Hive Academy will provide transportation to select schools in Conroe ISD, including:


  • Birnham Woods Elementary
  • Bradley Elementary
  • Broadway Elementary
  • Clark Intermediate
  • Cox Intermediate
  • Hines Elementary
  • Kauffman Elementary

Meet the owners

Owners Julie and Steven Eilers have been planning to open the Hive Academy since late 2023, Julie told Community Impact. She said they wanted to offer convenient care to busy families struggling with work-life balance.


The school provides all supplies to students as part of tuition, Eilers said, including diapers, wipes and blankets at nap time. Students in the before-school care program are fed breakfast, and students who arrive for after-school care receive a snack, she said. The Hive Academy will officially welcome students starting Sept. 15.

"Our goal was to create a school where children can thrive [and] the families have convenient, all-inclusive care where all they have to worry about is just getting their student to school, and we will take care of the rest for them," Eilers said.
