Klein ISD seeking feedback on proposed calendar options for 2022-23 school year

Klein ISD students, staff, parents and other community stakeholders have until 5 p.m. Dec. 2 to give feedback on three proposed calendars for the 2022-23 school year via an online survey.

According to the district website, options 1 and 2 both include 172 days, while option 3 includes 170 days. The following are dates of note associated with each of the proposed options.


Option 1

  • Aug. 8-16: Teacher in-service

  • Aug. 17: First day of school

  • Sept. 5: Labor Day

  • Oct. 7: Staff development/student holiday

  • Oct. 10: Staff development/student holiday

  • Nov. 8: Staff development/student holiday

  • Nov. 21-25: Thanksgiving break

  • Dec. 19-Jan. 3: Winter break

  • Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. holiday

  • Feb. 17: Staff development/student holiday

  • Feb. 20: Staff development/student holiday

  • March 13-17: Spring break

  • April 7: Staff/student holiday

  • April 10: Staff development/student holiday

  • May 26: Last day of school

  • May 29: Memorial Day

  • May 30: Teacher in-service


Option 2


  • Aug. 8-16: Teacher in-service
