Klein ISD released the 2020-21 academic calendar in a news release Jan. 8.

According to the calendar, the 2020-21 school year will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and classes will end on Friday, May 28. Graduation ceremonies will take place on June 5.

The Thanksgiving holiday will extend from Nov. 23-27, while the winter holiday will run Dec. 21-Jan. 1. Additionally, Spring Break will take place March 15-19.

According to KISD Communications Director Rachel Trotter, the selected calendar option received the majority of community approval and was the most popular option among parents and KISD employees.

"Every year, we ask for feedback from our staff, students, parents and community," Trotter said in an email. "This year, over 12,000 people weighed in on the two calendar options presented. Fifty-seven percent of people responding preferred the option that was approved by the board of trustees."
