Officials with Houston CityPlace Marriott named Javier Romero as the new executive chef of the hotel's on-site restaurant, SwitcHouse Plates & Pours, via an April 4 news release.

Career history

According to the release, Romero is a Houston native who received his bachelor's degree in culinary science from the Art Institute of Houston. Most recently, he served as the executive chef at Hotel ZaZa Memorial City and, before that, as the sous chef at Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston Energy Corridor.
