Information technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise on Nov. 1 announced it will move out of its Houston campus alongside Cypress Creek, which was severely damaged by flooding during Hurricane Harvey, but it will remain in the Houston area, according to a press release on the company’s website. A new campus will be built for the company, but a location has not yet been determined, according to the press release. HPE employed more than 3,000 people at the Cypress Creek campus on Hwy. 249, which flooded in 2016 and 2017. According to the press release, employees in sales, business, supply chain, legal and human resource teams will remain at the current campus until a new location is available. However, the company’s manufacturing facilities were irreparably damaged, and those operations were moved to sites in Wisconsin and Austin. A spokesperson for HPE could not immediately be reached for additional comment. The companies HPE and HP Inc. split from Hewlett Packard in November 2015. The HPE move will have no effect on the HP Inc. campus planned for Springwoods Village, HP spokesperson Dana Lengkeek said. A ground breaking for that building was held in May. In January, HP Inc. signed a long-term lease to occupy two office buildings near I-45 North and the Grand Parkway in Springwoods Village.
