A majority of the Houston City Place Marriott is now owned by CDC Houston, a subsidiary of Coventry Development Corporation, according to an Aug. 20 news release from City Place.

CDC Houston now holds 95% of ownership over the 337-room hotel after acquiring 50% from Affinius Capital, according to the news release. Woodbine Development Corporation—developer of the property and Dallas-based firm—retains 5% ownership.

“Our new role as majority owner reflects our long-term commitment to City Place and realizing our vision for an exceptional, sustainable community,” said Warren W. Wilson, executive vice president of CDC Houston, via the release.

In 2022, Coventry Development Corporation acquired 90% stake in two other City Place hotels: Residence Inn Houston City Place and Courtyard Houston City Place, according to the release.
