The Smith Ranch Road project is on track to go to bid in September. However, that could change due to right-of-way acquisition.

The project will widen the road from Hughes Ranch Road to north of Broadway Street. If the project goes to bid this fall, construction would begin in January 2022, according to the city website.

The project is set to cost $8.6 million and would be funded by the city of Pearland and the Texas Department of Transportation.
