The northbound lane closure on Bay Area Boulevard will open up later this week or early next week, weather permitting, Friendswood Assistant City Manager Steven Rhea said. The lane is closed from Steven Luke Lane to Park Bend Drive, with northbound traffic diverted to the southbound side, according to a press release from the city.
The lane was closed in late April for panel repair. The project is a part of the city’s street maintenance and repair program. For fiscal year 2020-21, the city has allocated $500,000 to street maintenance and repair. The city has allocated $100,000 to repairs on Bay Area.
The street and maintenance repair program is paid for by a portion of the city’s sales tax.
