Southside Boardshop opened at 19760 Gulf Freeway, Webster, inside Baybrook Square, in early August. Owner Eric Visentin began skating in the late 1980s in his hometown in Seabrook and bought a South Houston skate park in 2007. The business has grown, and the new location is a full-service skate shop that sells apparel and gear and repairs skateboards. Junkluggers of League City & Pearland opened Sept. 14. While it does not have a local address, the business serves Pearland, Houston, League City, Seabrook and Bacliff. According to owner Steve Alford, the business is an eco-friendly junk removal service for homeowners and businesses. Brookside Village Farmer's Market market on Oct. 10 held its first market at E.A. Lawhon Elementary School, located at 5810 Brookside Road, Pearland. The farmers market will be held every second Sunday of the month going forward from 9 a.m.-1p.m. and will focus on local food producers and area backyard gardeners, said Alex Hancock, treasurer for Brookside Village Farmers Market.
