Checkers opened Sept. 1 at 7305 W. Broadway St., Pearland. The fast-food chain restaurant serves burgers, fries, shakes, hot dogs and chicken wings, and it only offers drive-thru services.
The franchise owner, Kashif Kabani, has been in Pearland since he was 13 years old. He said he thought Pearland would be the perfect site for a Checkers.
Kabani owns multiple businesses in Pearland and wanted to bring in Checkers, as it is a new fast food restaurant for the Houston area.
“I was tired of the same old stuff,” he said.
