Pearland residents can now apply to the library board, as well as the parks, recreation and beautification board as of early March, according to multiple social media posts from the city of Pearland.

The Pearland Library Board is an ongoing seven-member advisory board that helps support local libraries, according to a social media post from the city.

According to the social media post, the board will have the following responsibilities:
  • Advise on library needs
  • Act as a liaison between Pearland and the Brazoria County Library System
  • Help with budget recommendations and funding efforts
  • Support library growth through partnerships and donations
The board will meet once a quarter on Thursdays at either the Tom Reid Library at 3522 Liberty Drive, Pearland, or the West Pearland Library at 11801 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland. The board terms will last for three years, according to the city’s website.

Pearland residents can also apply to the ongoing Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board, according to a social media post from the city.

The board will serve as an advisory board to study the city’s recreation, park facilities and beautification programs, and recommend use of the city’s parks, according to the city’s website.

The board will meet at 8:15 a.m. on the second Thursday of every month at the city’s administrative offices conference room, located at 4141 Bailey Road, Pearland, according to the city’s website.
