On April 3, the city of Manvel will host an open-to-the-public groundbreaking event to mark the beginning of construction on a new police station.

Located at 6605 Masters Road, Manvel, the police station will be 45,000 square feet and include cutting-edge technology, modern amenities, temporary animal housing kennels, a community meeting area and a strategic design focused on operational efficiency, according to a city news release.

Manvel approved funding for the project in April 2023, according to the release.

In May 2023, Manvel City Council approved a debt issuance of $35 million to fund the construction of the new police station as well as a community services building and an expansion to city hall, according to a May 2023 city news release.
