The candidate filing period has opened for May elections for Pearland City Council. Positions 2 and 4 are on the ballot this year.
Positions 2 and 4 are held by Tony Carbone and Adrian Hernandez, respectively. Both incumbents have filed for re-election with the city. As of the morning of Jan. 22, no one else has filed candidacy for either race.
Those interested in running for either position can find an election form on the city of Pearland's website.
The deadline for candidates to file is Feb. 12. Those interested can contact City Secretary Crystal Roan for more information at 281-652-1655, according to the city of Pearland. The election will be held May 1.
