The first grant, called Make Learning a Breeze, was awarded to Friendswood Junior High, according to the news release.
The grant, which is worth $27,000, will repurpose an underutilized area at the junior high into what officials described as an interactive environment for students and staff to engage in professional development, tutoring, club activities and instructional support, according to the news release.

The second grant, called Movement Matters: Boosting Better Learning and Energy Through Riding and Jumping, was awarded throughout the district.
The grant, which is worth $46,620, will focus on movement-based learning strategies. It will provide specialized equipment, including stationary bikes and trampolines, to promote engagement, energy and cognitive development through physical activity, according to the news release.
