Alvin ISD’s board of trustees will consider a reimbursement resolution to begin bond projects sooner at its Dec. 10 meeting.

What you need to know

At its Dec. 10 meeting, the board of trustees will consider an item that will officially issue the $380.1 million in funds that voters approved in November. However, it typically takes a few months for the district to receive funding from the bond, district documents note.

The reimbursement resolution would allow the board to authorize officials with the district to proceed with bond projects with current district funds, and use funds from the bond later for reimbursement, according to district documents.

What else?

Officials did not clarify in agenda documents how much the expended funds could be. However, the security vestibule project for the 23 campuses is expected to cost $10 million, according to district documents.

The security vestibule project will also potentially occur in three phases over summers 2025-27 in order to prevent disruptions during the academic school year, Community Impact previously reported.
