With students in Alvin, Friendswood and Pearland ISDs returning to school in August, the districts have provided resources for parents to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Alvin ISD

Pre-K, kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade students in AISD will begin school on Aug. 12, and students in all other grades will begin on Aug. 13, according to the district’s website.

Families of new students can learn more about enrollment here. Back-to-school registration for returning students began July 22 and can be accessed through personal family access accounts.

Meet-the-teacher events for all elementary and junior high schools are Aug. 8, according to the district’s website.


Fish, or freshmen, camps for all high schools, including Alvin, Manvel, Shadow Creek and Iowa Colony, are Aug. 12, according to the district’s website.

Friendswood ISD

Students in FISD will begin school Aug. 13, according to the district’s website.


Enrollment for both new and returning students is open and can be accessed here.

Friendswood High School will have welcome events from Aug. 5-8. Parent night for sixth graders and their families will be Aug. 7 for Friendswood Junior High, and meet-the-teacher events for Cline Elementary, Westwood Elementary, Windsong Elementary and Zue S. Bales Intermediate are Aug. 12, Kelsey Golz, Friendswood ISD's executive director of communication, said in an Aug. 1 email.

Pearland ISD

Students in PISD will begin school Aug. 12, according to the district’s website.

Enrollment instructions for new students in PISD can be found here. Families of returning students in PISD can enroll their students through Skyward.

Address verification through Skyward opened June 23. This step must be completed to access online verification, which includes verifying student’s Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act information, transportation information and food service, among other student information. Online verification opened July 22, according to the district’s website.

  • High schools and PACE Center: Sept. 9
  • Robert Turner College & Career High School: Sept. 10
