Dawson High School placed second in the University Interscholastic League, or UIL, Academic State Meet for social studies, according to a press release from Pearland ISD.

Tammy Savargaonkar, Fred Guo, Jessica Chen and Rishabh Dave were the members of the second place team.

The high school also participated in both ready writing and current events at the UIL competition.

The UIL offers a variety of academic contests for high school students, according to the release.
