Stella Roberts Recycling Center in Pearland will soon introduce new policies for recycling household hazardous waste, such as paint, pool and lawn chemicals, as well as extended hours of operation, according to a social media post.

Starting July 1, the center will no longer require appointments for recycling household hazardous waste. Instead, the center will be recruiting additional staff and volunteers to free up staff members certified in hazardous material to dedicate their time towards accepting and processing those recyclables on Fridays and Saturdays without the need for an appointment.

The center starting July 1 will also update its operating hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
