The mobile exclusive digital food passport, as described by the PCVB, went live on the Bandwango platform on March 11 and allows subscribers to have access to discounts from a list of restaurants in Pearland that have signed up and accrue points toward a quarterly prize from the PCVB, according to the release.
“This venture is both a fun and interactive way to showcase our destination and an opportunity to encourage visitors to get a taste of what we have to offer in Pearland,” PCVB Executive Director Tracy Rohrbacher said in the release. “It’s a passion project for our team, and we’re excited to see it unfold.”
People looking to sign up for the platform can do so via the PCVB website. Once a user registers for free, they will receive their digital passport via text and email, and will not be required to download an app.
Then, participants can take part in the “International Trail,” which the digital passport gives access to and is a collection of curated international restaurants in Pearland offering deals and discounts. When a person visits a participating business, they just need to present their phone to a staff member to redeem the available discounts.
The participating businesses as of March 18 are Arabella Mediterranean Kitchen and Grill, Boiling Dragon, Sambal Chef Malaysian Restaurant, Santa Barbara Italian Cafe, Spicy Panda, Super Bowl and Szechuan Spice.
The PCVB is still accepting other restaurants interested in joining the “International Trail,” according to the PCVB website.
