With 41 out of 41 voting centers reporting, Cheryl E. Johnson has 16,561 votes, or 61.07% of the vote.

"It was a win for the taxpayers of Galveston County. I am extraordinarily appreciative of all of the supporters and the volunteers that helped us with this victory. I could not have done it without them. I am ready to get back to business," Johnson said.

Jackie Peden has 10,555 votes, 38.93% of the vote.

Johnson has 14,669 votes, or 61.1% of the vote. Jackie Peden has 9,338 votes, or 38.9% of the vote.

Cheryl Johnson has 10,152 votes, or 61.05% of the vote. Jackie Peden has 6,478 votes, or 38.95% of the vote.

The winner of the primary will run unopposed in November, as there is no one running in the Democratic primary for this seat.
