The effort to widen a section of Broadway Street, Pearland’s most trafficked corridor, near Shadow Creek Ranch, has made significant progress after the city awarded a design and construction contract that is slated for completion by August 2028.

Pearland City Council voted unanimously at its March 23 meeting to award a $616,000 contract to engineering firm Consor North America for design, bidding and construction services tied to the widening of Broadway Street between Kirby Drive and Halfmoon Bay Drive.
Currently, Broadway Street has four lanes west of Kirby Drive and six lanes east of Kirby Drive. The project will extend the six lanes of Broadway Street to Halfmoon Bay Drive, City Manager Trent Epperson said.
