Project: Officials will reconstruct two parts of the road—from A Edenvale Street to FM 2351, and from B Thursa Lane to FM 528. Work will include replacing the pavement, drainage improvements and pedestrian enhancements.

Blackhawk Boulevard Phase II-B
Project: Work includes full reconstruction of the road from Edenvale Street to Geneva Drive, including new pavement, sidewalks, storm sewer upgrades and striping.
Update: The project is close to completion. Final additions, such as striping and punch list items, are expected in the coming weeks.

Sunset Drive traffic signal cabinets
Project: Officials replaced the traffic signal cabinets at three intersections along Sunset Drive near Friendswood High School.
Update: The project was completed in July ahead of the new school year.

Hughes Road Reconstruction
Project: Officials will widen the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane boulevard section from Pearland Parkway to the city’s eastern limits to increase mobility.
Update: The city expects the design for the project to reach 90% completion in November before moving into the final review phase.
- Timeline: bidding expected between February and March 2026
- Cost: $8.1 million.
- Funding source: street maintenance sales tax and Harris County's Partnership Project Program
Project: Brazoria County and the city are resurfacing portions of Plum Road, including base repairs, drainage improvements and an asphalt overlay.
Update: All base repairs and asphalt overlay will happen in mid-November and be completed before the week of Thanksgiving.
