Currently, students at Walt Disney Elementary are attending classes at the former Alvin Elementary site, located at 1910 Rosharon Road, after an EF2 tornado damaged Walt Disney Elementary in December, Community Impact previously reported.
The damaged school site eventually was voted to be demolished by the board in April, with plans to build the replacement campus on the demolished site.
The replacement campus’s design presentation will be presented to the board in November, with construction beginning in July 2026 and an opening in August 2028, Gesch said.
